According to an article in the economist Scientist have been able to make a type of golgi apparatus using a digital-fluidics chip, that basically uses electricity to move chemicals to behave like a normal golgi apparatus. This thing is important I guess because it makes gene medicine behave correctly in a human even if the genes didn't come from a human, read the article for the science.
What is important is that it demonstrates how close we are getting to having robot versions of cells with in us, doing their own bidding. Terminator and the matrix got it all wrong. Robots will take over from the inside like a cancer.
